accused of killing her -- and the trial for a student accused of killing her roommate begins today. they say she killed her over music being played on an ipod. she claims to was acting in self-defense. two of the three suspects arrested in the brutal beating of a man had to court today. they are all charged with attacking the man and august. maslin suffer severe brain injuries. >> in the aftermath of hurricane sandy we will get an update on garrett county's recovery were sandy dumped more than two feet of snow and had -- caused massive power outages. there will hold a news conference updating the state of emergency.

as well. we are waking up to about 42 degrees at reagan national. 39 at dulles. 41 and 32 in frederick. freezing this hour. there's a nor'easter storm still impacting most of new england. you can see the overcast conditions. if you are flying today, there could be delays. that may be an issue in boston because of wind and rain showers. we might even have some here in washington d.c. because of the clouds and wind this afternoon. but no dealers reported right now other than cancellations earlier. we will see quiet conditions across the country but stormy into the mountains to the west. looking for partly sunny skies. partly cloudy at noon. and mostly sunny and 5:00 p.m. and 52 degrees. about 65 and the 7 day forecast.

without power. let us take a look of where the nor'easter is in now. it is over new england. it is pretty much gone and new york city as well into new jersey and even here we have had a few sprinkles this morning on the eastern shore and around the delmarva area. that is about it. the cloud cover will be lingering through the morning hours. here are some of the snowfall totals about 1 foot in connecticut. new york, new jersey over 6 inches. central park record 4 inches. 39 at dulles. 37 in manassas. 31 -- 41 at bwi. record yesterday for the lowest maximum temperature. the lowest high of we have had on november 7 of a 43 degrees. it ties the record set back in

nice change in the pace for the upcoming weekend. i miss no lover and the like the cold, but a 60 degree action of the weekend -- i am a snow lover and i like the cold. but i will take a 60 degree weekend. in downtown silver spring this morning. let us take a look of the temperatures. 39 at the storm chasers truck. a cool start. it will be a cool afternoon. here is a warming trend with our seven-day. a lot more straightforward than what we have been seeing. with a bat pending nor'easter. now that passed us, it will still be breezy, and cool with highs in the mid 50's. but look at that. we warm up into the 60's, possibly upper 60's on a sunday into monday. the next chance of rain into tuesday. overall, expect a lot of sunshine from this afternoon through the weekend combined

that there have been lots of flights nationwide canceled ahead of this storm. and a lot of people are born to try to be rerouted. this is a one two punch after they are just starting to pick up the pieces from sandy, they are starting to deal with wind and rain and now snow. we of icy roads and roads have been closed as well. evacuation's and a place. and some of the coastal communities in new jersey. and still a half a million people without power. we are starting to get people back on line, more people now without power because of the wind they have had. chris christie there and new jersey saying this is not something he wanted to deal with again. >> we may take a step back. you need to be prepared for that. i am prepared for that. i hate step backs. i do not tolerate them usually very well. but this one i cannot control.

investigating this suspicious death here in northeast. last night the fire department called up for a burning car but found a body lying next to it. this morning, the parkway has reopened after being closed for several hours. the person has not been identified. >> a federal judge in new orleans such to preside over a fairness hearing for class action settlement over bp. this spawning from the 2010 oil spill in the gulf of mexico. the judge will hear from lawyers representing bp as well as lawyers for the plaintiff. the lawsuit for the economic damage claims that surfaced because of the oil spill. it is worth billions of dollars. >> thank you. that is what in need to know. >> gabrielle giffords going to be in an arizona courtroom today. the man who tried to kill her is sentenced. jared lee loughner a guilty in august.
